The Santa Maria Inn invited some different guests to its annual Thanksgiving brunch Thursday.
Officers from the Santa Maria office of the California Highway Patrol who were on duty for the holiday were invited for a Thanksgiving meal. The officers enjoyed the buffet in the tap room of the Santa Maria Inn.
“They are away from their families at this time of year. It’s a great opportunity for the Santa Maria Inn to give back to the community,” said Ryan Swack, General Manager at the Santa Maria Inn.
“I think it’s really sweet that they’ve opened it up for us here to eat as a group,” said CHP Officer Melinda Wilson.
The CHP is in the middle of its Maximum Enforcement Period, and all available officers are patrolling to keep roads safe for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
