While many shoppers will take advantage of Black Friday deals today, local shops are hoping people will come out to support their businesses over the weekend.
The Downtown SLO association is encouraging locals to support the San Luis Obispo economy by shopping on Small Business Saturday.
Shoppers can pick up a “Shop Small” passport at any of the following participating stores:

You can get your passport stamped at each store you stop into.
If you fill your passport with at least eight stamps, you can turn it in to be entered into a drawing for a gift basket filled with gift cards for downtown businesses. Passports must be submitted by 6 p.m. Saturday at Downtown SLO, HumanKind Fair Trade, Hands Gallery, Femme Jules D., or Picking Daisies.
Downtown SLO organizers will announce the winner on Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Tree Lighting Ceremony in Mission Plaza.
SLO Transit is offering free bus service all day in support of Small Business Saturday.
