PG&E is still assessing the cause of the outage.
More than 3400 customers are without power in Santa Maria.
The outage was reported just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.
According to PG&E, 3,474 customers are affected.
PG&E is investigating the cause of the outage and hopes to have power restored by 8:45 p.m.
Three smaller outages in the area are affecting nine other customers.
