The Santa Maria Public Library is encouraging people to come visit its new Wishing Tree.
Visitors write down their wishes and hang them on the tree.
So far wishes include everything from finding a cure to cancer to wishing for good grades or an iPad.
“There’s a lot of people who have wishes for getting well or for family members to get well or for a home even. They’re quite expressive in what they’ve written and it’s a real eye-opener for a lot of people have to worry about those things,” said Santa Maria librarian Mary Housel.
The tree will be up until the New Year. There are cards and pens next to it for anyone hoping to make a wish.
