A registered sex offender has been arrested after a woman told police she saw him exposing himself in a marked work truck at a grocery store parking lot.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said that a witness reported a man exposing himself at the Albertsons in Orcutt around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday. Sheriff’s deputies did not find him when they arrived to search the parking lot, though they say the witness provided a detailed enough description to make an arrest.

Deputies identified Richard Hunter, 33, as the suspect. He was arrested at his home in Santa Maria on Wednesday. He is being held in the Santa Barbara County Main Jail on $35,000 bail.

Hunter is a registered sex offender with prior convictions for indecent exposure.

Sheriff’s deputies are reminding people that residents can always find information about registered sex offenders on the Megan’s Law website.
