Santa Maria police say there will be an increased law enforcement presence at Battles Elementary School Friday after someone called the school and threatened a shooting.
Police say the school received a call from someone on Thursday, saying they were planning to “shoot up the school” on Friday.
According to police, the school district believes it was a prank call, but the district still notified police as a precaution.
The school is still planning to hold classes as scheduled.
KSBY reached out to the district for comment, but we have yet to hear back.
