The CHP has identified the woman who died in a head-on crash on Los Osos Valley Road.
CHP officers said Friday that Yu Liu Hunt, 52 of San Luis Obispo, was killed in the crash.
Jeffrey Lewis Raidor, 42 of San Luis Obispo, suffered major injuries.
The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators say Raidor was driving eastbound on Los Osos Valley Road about 50 miles an hour behind traffic.
For some reason, Hunt’s vehicle drifted into the eastbound lane and started traveling the wrong way down the road.
The driver of a vehicle right in front of Hunt’s car was able to swerve out of the way.
CHP officers say Raidor was behind the vehicle that swerved and didn’t have time to move out of the way. Hunt’s vehicle then crashed head-on into Raidor’s vehicle.
The crash is still under investigation.
