A local woman tried her luck on Wheel of Fortune Monday night.

Sarah Dickerson was one of three competitors on the show.

She is from San Luis Obispo and recently graduated from Cal Poly’s theater program. She is also working on becoming a certified yoga teacher.

She won $1,000 right off the bat on Monday’s show, and she got to talk about her career goals with host Pat Sajak.

“I’m an actor and recently graduated with my theater degree,” said Dickerson. “Acting is my passion, and yoga keeps me sane.”

Dickerson didn’t end up winning it all, but she still walked away with $5,000.

Sajak also joked that she should meet with the casting director of the show as she launches her acting career.

You can catch Wheel of Fortune weekdays at 7:30 p.m. on KSBY.
