There are still a couple of days left to apply for permits to sell Safe and Sane Fireworks in Lompoc for Independence Day.
The Lompoc Fire Department is accepting applications through Friday.
Nonprofit groups can enter a lottery to sell the fireworks and raise money for their organizations.
There will only be six sale stands in the city, and two are generally saved for the Lompoc Unified School District Education Foundation.
The city will notify organizations by March 1 if they were chosen to receive a permit.
