Posted

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is now offering “Walk-in Wednesdays” for live scan service in its Santa Barbara and Santa Maria locations.

Every Wednesday, people are welcome to come in for a fingerprint live scan without an appointment on a first come, first served basis between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m

These scans are available to the public for pre-employment purposes. The station also has the ability to transmit your fingerprints to the California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

The station requires those obtaining a live scan to bring their live scan request form, photo ID and cash. Credit cards and checks are not accepted.

Starting Jan. 30, the cost of obtaining a live scan is $24 with a billing number.
