The Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Detectives are trying to figure out why a woman drove her car into a police station early Saturday morning.
Police say around 4:45 a.m., the female driver maneuvered past exterior barriers and drove into the lobby of the Harbor Area station. The driver and her infant passenger were not harmed and the lobby was closed at the time of the crash.
The woman was taken into custody and police are determining whether any charges need to be filed.
A temporary mobile substation has been established so that the LAPD Harbor Division can continue to work. Officials will need to determine if the structural integrity of the building was compromised.
