Santa Barbara County deputies responded to a report of a beached sailboat near the Seal Rookery Saturday.
The boat had washed up on the shore and responders said it was causing an immediate threat to the beach and nearby seal population.
Deputies, along with the Beacon West Energy Group, US Coast Guard and Seal Watch members were able to mitigate the damage and take care of the boat.
