This week will be a week of rain, but before the wet weather starts, there will be partly cloudy skies and mild daytime highs Monday.
Temperatures will range from the low to mid-60s and winds will be mild. Expect mostly cloudy skies in areas north of Point Conception and partly cloudy skies near Santa Barbara County’s south coast.
An atmospheric river event is in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, which means the area could receive some heavy rainfall. For the most part, rainfall totals will range from 0.5” to 1” of rain. The foothills in the northwest portion of San Luis Obispo County could receive up to 2”. Another point to make is that the foothills could also receive 1” of rain within a six-hour window during this storm, plus, the rain will be most intense in the overnight hours from Tuesday through Wednesday. Southwest winds will also be gusty on Tuesday and could reach 30 miles per hour before the rain rolls through the area.
