A new discount store will soon open in Santa Maria.
DD’s Discounts will be located at 1934 S. Broadway, which used to be a Michaels art supplies store.
According to the DD’s Discounts website, the discount store sells clothing, shoes, home decor, toys, and other items at low prices. It’s part of the same company as ROSS, which also focuses on selling high-quality items at a lower cost.
Once the store opens, it will be the 18th location in California. Most of the California locations are in the Central Valley. There is also one Ventura County location in Oxnard.
Construction crews were seen working at the new location in Santa Maria on Wednesday.
An exact opening date hasn’t been released, but a sign on the outside of the store says “coming soon.”
