A Central Coast family is asking for the community’s help in the fight of their son’s life.

Families and businesses are rallying around Phoenix Agalos, a local 8-year-old who is battling brain cancer.

All About Events started Flamingos for Phoenix.

Every time a business donates to Phoenix’s family, a flock of plastic flamingos is placed in front of the business to draw attention to its service.

Phoenix has been fighting cancer for more than a year. His family has been searching for new doctors and treatments, but they need help paying for travel expenses.

On Thursday, the family is holding a fundraiser at Chili’s in Paso Robles. It runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Chili’s, which is located at 2001 Theater Drive in Paso Robles. Chili’s will donate a percentage of the proceeds to Flamingos for Phoenix.

A similar fundraiser was held last week.
