Friday is the last day to register for Goleta’s Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT.
The city is hosting training on Mondays during the spring, from March 25 through May 13.
The classes are free.
They’re designed to teach community members about how to help in a disaster when first responders might not be able to respond quickly.
People who take the class will learn basic disaster response skills, including fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
The classes will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Goleta Valley Community Center, which is located at 5679 Hollister Avenue.
