UPDATE: Man fatally stabbed in Lompoc

UPDATE: (11:35 p.m.)– Lompoc Police say a man has died after being stabbed Sunday night.

Officers responded to a 911 call on the 400 Block of South J Street around 8:50 p.m. where they found the stabbing victim.

Officers provided medical aid until the Lompoc Fire Department and Medical Response took over treatment. The victim was transported to the Lompoc Valley Medical Center Emergency Room where he later died.

The name of the victim is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at (805) 736-2341.

ORIGINAL STORY (9:45 p.m.) — The Lompoc Police Department is responding to reports of a possible stabbing.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Kevin Martin says the incident is on South J St., but could not provide additional details at this time.
