New housing project breaks ground in Lompoc

A housing development of forty-four new homes in Lompoc began construction began this week.

The development at Harris Grade Road and Gardengate Lane in Purisima Hills has been planned for months now. As KSBY previously reported, the lot has changed ownership several times over the last decade.

Home prices are expected to be in the $500,000 range. The developer, McCarthy Homes, says the two-story and one-story homes will be built for a variety age groups and family sizes to move in.

McCarthy Homes says the location offers commuters easy access to Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.

They also hope to have model homes ready by late summer of this year.
