California Highway Patrol Officers arrested a man Friday night after a pursuit in Paso Robles.
CHP located a suspicious vehicle parked on Linne Road near Paso Robles at around 6:00 p.m. When the officers ran the plate number they found the vehicle was reported stolen out of Santa Maria.
CHP requested assistance, and prior to their arrival, the driver of the vehicle drove away towards Paso Robles. CHP
officers tried to initiate the driver to stop, however, the driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.
After a short pursuit, the driver pulled onto Larkfield place, which is a court, and reportedly crashed into an undercover police car pinning it into a dirt embankment.
An investigator was injured in the crash and was taken to a local hospital.
Officers arrested Marcos David Rodriguez, 41, of Santa Maria. A passenger was taken into custody and was later released with a citation.
Rodriguez faces multiple charges including stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, felony evading causing injuries, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Rodriguez is being held on $50,000 bail.
