Thousands of athletes from all over the world are participating in the Central Coast’s largest running festival.
The half marathon and relay races got underway Sunday morning at 7 a.m. With temperatures in the 50’s, runners left the Madonna Inn meadow to hit the damp streets throughout San Luis Obispo.
Select streets will be closed Sunday from 3 a.m. to noon and drivers are asked to allow extra time if they are traveling throughout town as minor delays are expected.
On Friday was the YogaMusic Fest. To limber up for the races athletes participated in sweaty strength yoga, a dance party yoga and vinyasa yoga.
Saturday was Family Day with a 5K, two kids races and the opening of the two-day Race SLO Festival, which featured free activities and live music.
On Sunday, the top male and female in the half marathon will receive a unique engraved antique cow bell.
