Atascadero residents got a chance to show off their cardboard boats at the Friends of the LakeFest Regatta Saturday.
The event was sponsored by the Atascadero Friends of the Lake. Along with the cardboard boat race, the festival included stand up paddleboard races and activities for kids.
About 10 entries were made at the regatta from families around the area. The winner of the event received a “perpetual trophy” from sponsors.
“The winner gets their name on the perpetual trophy that lives downtown at city hall,” explained Nancy Hair, Co-founder of Friends of Atascadero Lake.
There was also live music from the Longshots band at the annual event.
