Pier 1 Imports is increasing the number of stores expected to close this year.
The home goods retailer said it will close 57 stores in the fiscal year, up a dozen from the April estimate of 45 stores.
On an earnings call this week, the company’s CEO said there could be more closings to follow.
In April, officials said as many as 145 stores could close as part of a 15% cut.
According to company documents, there are more than 965 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
On the Central Coast, there are Pier 1 locations in Paso Robles, Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria, and Goleta.
The company has not announced which stores will be closed.
