ESCONDIDO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two men sleeping in bushes along a street were killed when a 13-year-old out for a joy ride with a friend crashed her mother's SUV while being chased by police near San Diego.
Officials say one of the men died at the scene Friday in Escondido and the other died at a hospital. After the crash police arrested the young driver and her passenger.
Officers also discovered the victims, who are believed to be homeless. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the girls have been released to their parents as the investigation continues.
