The Merced County Sheriff's Office has canceled an Amber Alert that was issued over the weekend for a two-year-old boy from Atwater.
It was believed that Steven Weir abducted his son, John, on Friday.
Sheriff's officials say the vehicle Steven Weir was believed to be driving was found Sunday night in a remote area of Tuolumne County near the Sand Flat Campground, and two bodies were found near the car.
According to Fresno NBC affiliate KSEE, family members have confirmed the bodies are John and Steven Weir.
Sheriff's officials say they expect to release more information later Monday afternoon.
