The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline increased by 2 cents over the past two weeks, to $2.24 per gallon. That's 59 cents below the average pump price from a year ago.
Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says the increase comes as crude oil prices rise.
California's average price per gallon of gas is at $3.12. Nearly a dollar more than the national average.
On the Central Coast the average price of regular gasoline in San Luis Obispo County is $3.23. That's compared to $3.11 one month ago. In Santa Barbara County the average price of regular gasoline is $3.13. That is compared to $3.04 a month ago.
The lowest average nationwide is $1.79 in Houston.
