Three people have died on California roadways in the last 24 hours, CHP reported.
In the first 24 hours of its maximum enforcement effort, officers have made 157 arrests for driving under the influence. The three deaths come during the same period.
Within the first six hours of our statewide Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period, CHP officers made 157 arrests for driving under the influence. Sadly at least three people were killed in collisions during that same period. #DriveSafe and make it to the Thanksgiving table.

CHP will continue its increased presence on the roadways through Dec. 1.
