Coronavirus patients could be quarantined at Point Mugu in Ventura County, officials said.

According to a Facebook post, the Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) said Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper contacted the base to prepare them for the possibility of housing American patients there.

Nearly 400 American passengers were flown back to the U.S. after being quarantined on the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship in Japan. Infected with the new virus or not, all returning American travelers are subject to an additional two week quarantine by the federal government.

A Community Info Session is scheduled Monday, Feb. 24, 6:30 p.m. at the Pt. Mugu Theater.
