The National Weather Service says a narrow EF0 tornado touched down at the Ventura Harbor on Wednesday evening.
The tornado reportedly touched down near the Santa Clara River and moved less than one mile north-northwest across the harbor.
NWS officials visited the harbor on Thursday morning and reported finding damage to trees, roof tiles, and canopies.
Tornado Warnings were issued for parts of Santa Barbara and Orange counties late Wednesday as a powerful winter storm passed over the area. Those warnings were later canceled as the storm weakened and no other tornadoes were reported.
The wild weather continued into Thursday as snow shut down multiple highways throughout Southern California, including Interstate 5 over the Tejon Pass through the mountains north of Los Angeles and Interstate 15 over the Cajon Pass.
