Car launches into house in Santa Ynez, home heavily damaged

A home in Santa Ynez is uninhabitable after a crash sends a vehicle airborne into the house early Sunday morning.

According to Santa Barbara Fire, a car left the roadway and traveled 150 feet in the air, landing inside the home on the 3300 block of Sagunto Road in Santa Ynez.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m.

What originally caused the vehicle to fly off the roadway is under investigation.

The driver was reportedly transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The name has not been released.

No one inside the house was hurt.

However, fire officials say the home has been "red-tagged" because it has been left unstable due to the crash.
