Santa Barbara County reported 162 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 5,444 confirmed cases as of July 23.
Of the 356 active cases in the community, 86 people are hospitalized, including 27 patients who are in the ICU.
Health officials say 5,051 people have recovered, including 1,002 inmates at the federal prison in Lompoc.
Santa Barbara County has had 32 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Health officials say 69,360 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the county so far. According to the Public Health Department's metrics website, about nine percent of tests have been positive over the past seven days.
Three free coronavirus testing sites are open to the community in Santa Barbara County. They are located at the Santa Maria Fairpark in Santa Maria, the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, and at the AMR Central Training Center in Buellton.
