2 more COVID-19 cases reported in Santa Barbara County; total cases now 508

Two more cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Santa Barbara County bringing the total number of cases to 508.

According to the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department (PHD), today’s total number of confirmed cases include an update as two cases reported previously were determined not to be cases. An additional four are pending an update.

Of the new cases, two are in City of Santa Barbara and the unincorporated area of Mission Canyon and one in Santa Ynez Valley (including the Cities of Solvang & Buellton, and the communities of Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, Los Olivos and Ballard).

One of the new cases is at the Federal Prison in Lompoc where a total of 174 inmates have tested positive for the coronavirus.

397 people have recovered, 65 are recovering at home, 34 are hospitalized, 14 of whom are in the ICU. Eight deaths have been reported.

63 health care workers have tested positive for the novel virus.

More than 4,600 tests have been done.
