21 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Santa Barbara Co.

Santa Barbara County reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county's total to 1,517 cases as of May 19.

Eight of those new cases are inmates at the federal prison in Lompoc. Ten cases are in Santa Maria.

Health officials say 971 of the county's cases are at the prison.

Of the community-based cases, 28 people are hospitalized, including eleven patients who are in the ICU.

Another 28 people are recovering at home and 432 people have recovered.

Santa Barbara County has had eleven deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Three free coronavirus testing sites are open to the community in Santa Barbara County -- at the Santa Maria Fairpark, the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, and the Anderson Recreation Center in Lompoc.
