26 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Santa Barbara Co.; total now 218

Santa Barbara County is reporting 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 218 as of April 7.

Health officials say 42 patients are in the hospital, including 19 in the ICU; 120 patients are recovering at home and 51 are fully recovered.

The county is awaiting an update on three additional patients.

Santa Barbara County has had two deaths from COVID-19.

There are 59 cases in Santa Maria, 55 in the Lompoc area, 33 in Santa Barbara, 22 in Orcutt, 15 in unincorporated areas of northern Santa Barbara County and Guadalupe, 14 in the Carpinteria/Montecito/Summerland area, nine in the unincorporated area of the Goleta Valley and Gaviota, five each in Goleta and the Santa Ynez Valley, and one in Isla Vista.

The county reports that a total of 1,514 coronavirus tests have been completed to date.
