The California Men's Colony is dealing with its largest outbreak since the start of the pandemic.
The 262 inmate cases within the last 14 days account for 39 percent of the 689 total cases at CMC since March.
Seventy-eight staff cases have also been reported in the last two weeks.
COVID-19 cases are also going up at Atascadero State Hospital.
The Department of State Hospitals is reporting 30 new cases there in the last two weeks.
That's about a third of the overall cases reported at the facility since mid-May.
San Luis Obispo County is currently dealing with several COVID-19 outbreaks.
In Lompoc, numbers are going in the other direction at the federal prison.
Once dealing with a major outbreak, the Bureau of Federal Prisons is reporting cases among just two inmates and three staff members as of Thursday.
While that's two more staff cases than two weeks ago, the number of inmate cases is down by nine during that same time period.
