Another Central Coast event has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

Organizers announced Tuesday the cancellation of this year’s Central Coast Airfest, a national airshow, which has been held the last two years at the Santa Maria Airport.

“We are extremely disappointed to announce the cancellation of this year’s AirFest, scheduled for Oct 17-18th. AirFest has proven to be a wonderful community event embraced by the entire Santa Maria Valley, and we were very much looking forward to bringing this event back in 2020” said AirFest Director Chris Kunkle in a press release. “However, due to the ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19, community safety and the well-being of everyone involved, including our many international performers as well as the military services, we knew it best to cancel and focus on an even better event next year.”

Several other major events in Santa Maria have also been canceled or postponed due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.
