Cal Poly is reporting 51 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among students since the start of winter quarter.

The number is less than half of what the university’s COVID-19 dashboard was showing Wednesday.

A Cal Poly spokesperson says the discrepancy in numbers was caused by a data error, which has since been fixed.

Campus Health & Wellbeing has conducted 15,628 COVID-19 student tests since Jan. 3 of this year.

Thirty-six students are reportedly in isolation on campus along with 28 in quarantine.

Another 203 are quarantining in place due to possible COVID-19 exposure in university housing facilities.

The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department reports 256 positive COVID-19 cases among on-campus students since the start of the pandemic.
