The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says five more inmates at the county jail have tested positive for COVID-19.
A total of 14 inmates at the main jail have now tested positive for the virus.
Sheriff's officials say one of the new coronavirus-positive inmates was positive at the time of arrest. Upon booking, the inmate was housed in a negative pressure room and is being medically monitored.
The other four inmates were found to be COVID-19 positive through contact tracing from a previous case.
Sheriff's officials say 17 inmates in the affected housing area were reportedly tested on Friday, and the four positive test results came back over the weekend.
The remaining 13 inmates from that housing area reportedly tested negative and are being monitored.
