Indoor malls in Los Angeles County reopened earlier this week and public health officials say they're noticing a spike in COVID-19 cases.

On Wednesday the county reported it's highest single-day case increase in six weeks. Public health officials say they've struggled to lower the daily case numbers that allow them to move up in the state's COVID-19 tier system.

Indoor malls were allowed to reopen but can only work at 25 percent capacity; food courts and lounging areas are still closed.
