A squad of more than 100 cars drove from Santa Maria to Paso Robles in a "Covid Cruise" to support local businesses, Saturday.
Event organizers say the cars made stops at small businesses throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties to support them during the COVID-19 outbreak.
All drivers followed state and federal health guidelines and procedures, to ensure everyone was safe," according to the organizers.
"The whole idea was to get car people together as much as we could. With everything going on, people are getting cooped up, they want to get out. So we tried to design an event that wouldn't gather too much but a couple stops locally," said Tyler Henry and Brandon Stier, event organizers.
The event was free for all participants.
The group that ran this event also hosts the National Motor Fest every year in San Luis Obispo.
