Paso Robles City Manager Tom Frutchey has declared a local emergency in response to the increasing spread of novel coronavirus across the state.
City officials say the declaration allows for the activation of the city's Emergency Operations Center, which qualifies the city to receive federal reimbursement for COVID-19-related costs.
It also helps facilitate coordination with county, state, and federal emergency response teams.
The city council is expected to ratify the declaration at Tuesday night's council meeting. Rather than attending in person, the public is encouraged to live stream the meeting and call in at 888-867-1694 to provide public comment.
