The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is releasing new guidelines for graduation and promotion ceremonies this year.

The district is clear that ceremonies will only be conducted when local, state and federal restrictions are removed and a safe commencement activity can be ensured.

If that happens before graduation ceremonies are set to take place, district officials say the proposed plan includes War Memorial Stadium seating be allowed for high school graduations, although some graduates may receive fewer tickets if necessary.

Middle school promotions would continue at their typical respective sites.

"We really don't wanna give up on having a real graduation for our kids. As a parent in this community of a high schooler, I know how hard it is, and we love our kids and our families. We really want to have many alternatives to celebrate in these really uncertain and trying times," said Jennifer Gaviola, Deputy superintendent for PRJUSD.

All ceremonies will be live streamed.
