San Luis Obispo County public libraries are expanding their online services to help students and families staying at home.

Even though the libraries are temporarily closed, county libraries are now offering hundreds of new e-book and audiobook titles on the digital platform called "Cloud Library."

They are also giving patrons temporary unlimited access to Kanopy Kids which offers educational videos for kids through Apple TV or the Kanopy app.

The assistant library director hopes these digital offerings will help students and teachers as they transition to online learning.

"We recognize the library is an essential place in the community and hopefully we can continue to be there even with our doors closed," said Chase McMunn, assistant director of libraries for San Luis Obispo County public libraries

In addition, community members who do not have a library card can sign up for a digital one through the San Luis Obispo County Public Library website.
