Santa Barbara Co. adds 24 new COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus-confirmed healthcare workers can return to work without being testing negative

Santa Barbara County added 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 9,387 confirmed cases as of October 8.

Nineteen people are hospitalized, including seven patients who are in the ICU.

Health officials say 9,146 people have recovered.

Santa Barbara County has had 115 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • Santa Maria - 4,004
  • Santa Barbara - 1,239
  • Lompoc federal prison - 1,025
  • Lompoc - 877
  • Guadalupe and North County unincorporated areas (Sisquoc, Casmalia, Garey, Cuyama, New Cuyama) - 432
  • Orcutt - 340
  • Goleta - 266
  • Isla Vista - 246
  • Unincorporated Goleta Valley and Gaviota - 203
  • Carpinteria and South County unincorporated areas (Montecito, Summerland) - 202
  • Santa Ynez Valley (Solvang, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Ballard) - 160

The location of an additional 393 cases is listed as "pending."

Three free coronavirus testing sites are available to the community in Santa Maria, Buellton, and Goleta.

A pop-up testing clinic will be open on October 9, October 23, and November 6 in Isla Vista.
