Santa Barbara Co. COVID-19 total increases to 3,655 cases

Santa Barbara County's COVID-19 case total rose to 3,655 cases on Monday.

The county added 45 new cases on Friday, July 3; 106 cases on July 4; 76 cases on July 5; and, 171 new cases on July 6.

Inmates at the federal prison in Lompoc account for 994 of the county's total cases, none of which are currently considered active.

Of the 389 active cases in the community, 69 people are hospitalized, including 21 patients who are in the ICU. Health officials say 2,246 community members have recovered.

Santa Barbara County has had 29 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Health officials say 50,029 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the county so far. According to the Public Health Department's metrics website, about eight percent of tests have been positive in the past seven days.

Three coronavirus testing sites are open to the community in Santa Barbara County. They are located at the Santa Maria Fairpark in Santa Maria, the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara and at the AMR Central Training Center in Buellton.
