Santa Barbara Co. reports 20 new cases of COVID-19

Santa Barbara County reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 1,540 cases as of May 21.

Of the 570 cases in the community, 26 people are hospitalized, including ten patients who are in the ICU.

Sixty people are recovering at home and 457 people have recovered.

The other 970 cases are inmates at the federal prison in Lompoc, and 880 of those cases are recovered.

Santa Barbara County has had eleven deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Health officials say 14,483 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Santa Barbara County to date.

Three free coronavirus testing sites are open to the community in Santa Barbara County -- at the Santa Maria Fairpark, the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, and the Anderson Recreation Center in Lompoc.
