Santa Barbara County reported its sixth death related to COVID-19 on Friday, April 24.

Health officials say the person who died was in their 60s and had underlying health conditions.

The county's total number of confirmed cases rose to 460 on Friday, an increase of nine since Thursday.

Thirty-eight people are currently hospitalized, including 13 patients who are in the ICU. Another 126 people are recovering at home.

County health officials say 60 percent of the confirmed cases, or 278 people, are fully recovered. That means they are no longer symptomatic or infectious and have completed their quarantine period.

The health department is awaiting information on 12 additional patients.
