Two United States Postal Service workers have tested positive for COVID-19, USPS officials confirm to KSBY news.
The USPS says the two employees work at the Santa Barbara East Beach Annex Post Office on Nopalitos Way.
“We (USPS) are in the process of reaching out to the local public health office and will follow the guidance they provide. We believe the risk is low for employees who work at the Santa Barbara East Beach Annex Post Office, but we will keep our employees apprised as new information and guidance becomes available,” according to a statement sent to KSBY News.
No other information is being released due to privacy laws.
The postal service says “out of an abundance of caution” a contract cleaner was hired “to enhance and supplement current cleaning protocols using disinfectants across the facility.”
