SLO Co. adds 12 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 4,092 confirmed cases as of October 21.

Two people are hospitalized. Another 187 people are recovering at home and health officials say 3,869 have recovered. This means 189 cases remain active.

San Luis Obispo County has had 32 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

San Luis Obispo County is currently in the Red-substantial tier. In order for the county to move into the Orange-moderate tier the county's case rate per 100,000 needs to be under four for two consecutive weeks. Right now that number is at 5.1.

The location of four additional cases is under investigation, and another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
