SLO Co. adds 27 new COVID-19 cases

San Luis Obispo County added 27 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county's total to 3,842 confirmed cases as of October 9.

The new cases include two at the California Men’s Colony and six Cal Poly students living on campus.

Three people are hospitalized. Another 200 people are recovering at home and 3,587 have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 31 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • Arroyo Grande - 222

  • Morro Bay - 63
  • Los Osos - 61
  • Shandon - 52
  • Cambria - 36
  • Santa Margarita - 32
  • Cal Poly (on-campus) - 34
  • Creston - 20
  • Cayucos - 18
  • Avila Beach - 7
  • San Simeon - 6

The location of six additional cases is under investigation, and another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
