San Luis Obispo County is adding another testing site and expanding hours for community members to get tested for free as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.

The new COVID-19 testing location is being added in Nipomo at the Nipomo Senior Center on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hours at the Paso Robles Event Center’s Frontier Pavilion will be 7 am. to 7 p.m. every day except Sundays until further notice.

“COVID-19 is spreading, and you have the power to stop it,” said SLO County Public Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein. “Schedule a safe and confidential test at a free testing clinic. Get tested to slow the spread, help schools reopen, and lift more State restrictions.”

Health officials are encouraging anyone with COVID-19-like symptoms or who may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 to get tested.

Those without symptoms but wanting to get tested are asked to do so via an at-home test kit.

Other COVID-19 testing sites in the county are in Grover Beach, Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.
